What Does VLCD Mean?

A ‘Very Low Calorie Diet’ also known as a VLCD diet means consuming less than 800 calories a day. It would be very difficult to create your own VLCD using conventional food that is nutritionally balanced, giving you all the quality protein, good fats and vitamins and minerals that your body requires.

What is Ketosis?

Ketosis is the state of metabolism whereby your body uses fat (rather than carbs) as its main fuel source, stimulating weight loss. It’s extremely effective, the first three days can be a challenge as your body adapts to the diet, but once your body enters ketosis you will find you feel less hungry and may even experience a surge in energy!

The first few days of any diet are the toughest, so we’ve complied a list of 5 hand hints and tips to help you on your way…

1. Find Your Motivation

Willpower is a valuable thing, so don’t underestimate it. Write yourself a letter before you begin your weight loss journey detailing all the reasons that led you to make the decision, and go back and read it every time you need a boost to carry on.

2. Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is key, especially during hot weather. While we suggest drinking 2-4 litres daily, it’s always advisable to drink to thirst when following one of our Exante diet plans. 3. Get Tasty

Here at Exante, we believe that being on a diet doesn’t have to be boring. 5. Get Support
