Well done for deciding to take control of your weight loss management and making the first step towards a healthier, new and improved you. Here are eight of our top tips on how you can shake those extra pounds. These are only suggestions, but if you choose to follow them, you will be well on your way to achieving your dream body.

1. Eat Breakfast

  • We're told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but despite this, we often go without. Research has shown that eating a healthy breakfast has played a crucial role in helping people lose weight. 
  • The earlier you eat food, the earlier your metabolism will kick in for the day ahead. Try eating one of our diet bars or diet shakes for breakfast or fill yourself up with whole grains and fiber to stop you snacking later on.

2. Get Enough Sleep

  • Sleep deprivation can be detrimental to your weight loss plan. Research has shown that people who regularly get enough hours of good quality sleep tend to have a lower BMI index than people who don't get enough sleep. The hormone Leptin is responsible for suppressing hunger whilst the hormone Ghrelin does the opposite. When you don't get enough sleep, your body produces more Ghrelin. When you do get enough sleep, the levels of Leptin will increase and this will suppress your hunger levels, resulting in faster weight loss results. 3. Carry Healthy Snacks With You

  • It's important that you carry healthy snacks with you at all times as you never know when you might get caught up somewhere or delayed. Whenever you feel hungry, rather than making a quick trip to vending machine or snacking on sweets and chocolate, you should only consume healthy snacks like our diet bars, high-fiber fruits like apples or some almonds or pretzels. Snacking on healthier choices like the ones mentioned will also kick start your metabolism and keep it running throughout the day.

4. Exercise

  • If you're wanting to lose weight fast, then cutting your calorie intake is not always enough. It's important to exercise at least once a day. The amount of exercise you should do depends on what diet plan you are following. For example, if you're following our Total Solution diet plan, then we wouldn't recommend you go flat out on the treadmill for an hour every day at the gym because you will only be consuming 600 calories in total. You would therefore be burning more energy than you are consuming. You could always go for a gentle walk instead. Simple changes like walking instead of taking public transport or your car will definitely make a difference  and help you with your weight loss plan. However, you should always check with your doctor before taking part in any exercise as safety is your first priority.

5. Cut Out Salt and Sugar

    • Sugar and Salt are two things that you should cut out of your diet if you want to achieve effective weight loss results. 
    • Sugary drinks and fast foods containing high levels of salt are detrimental to any weight loss plan. These are also the main culprits behind why many people find it hard to shift the weight. Cut out salt and sugar and you will be in a much better position to tackle your weight issues.

6. Drink Water

  • It's essential that you drink lots of water. If you drink water before you eat a meal you will also find that you consume less, as your stomach won't feel as empty. It's also the key to a healthier lifestyle. Many people are not aware that fruit juice (and even drinks that you might think are healthy like sports drinks), actually contain high levels of sugar too. Stick to water and your body will feel the benefits.

7. Don't Eat After Eight

    • Late night snacks can be detrimental to your weight loss plan. Even if you follow our other tips for losing weight fast, but break the rule of not eating past 8pm, your hard work will go to waste. This is because after 8pm your body will go into 'rest and recovery' mode, so you are less likely to burn up any of the calories that you are consuming during the evening or late at night. This means that most of these snacks that taste great at the time, will be stored as fat and will ultimately prevent any fast weight loss results. 

8. Increase Your Protein Intake

    • When trying to lose weight it's important that you consume high levels of protein. Protein fills you up and you will feel more satisfied with smaller amounts of food.
