There are times when I really want a chocolate bar and the diet versions do not have that taste. But these....they're lovely. Like a mix of milk and dark chocolate they're marvellous straight from the freezer. A couple of these velvet drops now and then is just want I needed to keep on my diet.
I delayed reviewing these because I didn't want the word to get out how good they are and stocks to run out before I ordered loads more boxes (BBD 31/12/2019). They are a darker chocolate, but not a dark bitter chocolate. I keep them at room temperature and let one melt on my tongue, which it does with a velvety creaminess and a good aftertaste. They can also be used grated (refrigerate/freeze first for easier grating) over Exante shakes and particularly yummy sprinkled over hot shakes/smoothies. At 25 calories each I allow myself one a day sometimes with a coffee when I feel like a treat. They are quite rich so if you let it melt in your mouth, it feels like a real chocolate hit and I don't want another. I hope Exante have them every Christmas because they are sooo good.
I received one of these in the festive box and kept it until December 1st. The windows were not easy to open, which might be an advantage, so I had to open the top and slide the tray of chocolate pieces out. However I didn't cheat, but enjoyed one each morning with my coffee. They taste like a cross between dark chocolate, which I don't really like, and a more milky one. The first taste is slightly bitter but after moment the chocolate taste comes through. They last well too, not just one munch and gone! They are enough of a treat to be satisfying but not moreish so Exante have got things just right with this one.
