Weight Loss

To use: Mix with 140ml of cold water in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave for 1 minute (700W). Stir. Microwave for a further 1 minute. Stand for 1 minute before consuming. Best flavour porridge

Takes patience to cook right buts it’s worth it Didn’t feel like a calorie controlled meal at all

Love it

Makes for a really nice, warming, oat breakfast drink. Not too sweet, good apple flavours. A previous review mentioned the apple pieces being hard, I disagree, as long as you microwave as per the instructions they will rehydrate and are a lovely texture.

This is probably the worst thing I’ve tasted. I was looking forward to it but the bits of apple were still hard, the texture is like baby food, is tastes really chemically and I couldn’t even finish it. Really disappointed.


I like the apple and cinnamon porridge, it sets me up for the day, has texture with the apple pieces and the skin is the best bit. Tasty and satisfying.

Better than expected

Some reviewers have stated that this Apple& Cinnamon porridge is too sweet and sickly but I disagree. What I have found sickly is the Golden Syrup one but this one has just the right amount of sweetness. I followed the instructions but was unable to get the right consistency. Despite having a 900w microwave, the 2 minutes in total still resulted in watery porridge so I heated on full power for a further 30 seconds and it turned out better, although nothing like the picture on the website. Overall, a lovely taste and would try again.

Apple Cinnamon porridge

Not one of my best purchases. Far too sweet and hardly any oats in it. Also kept boiling over even after following the instructions. Wont be buying again.

Not too bad

This porridge is ok not like normal porridge but edible. You need to make sure you stir well and add the water but by bit

Textureless overly-sweet 'gloop'

What I don't understand about this porridge is why it's been put made to produce something with the texture of sloppy baby food in stead of the texture of porridge. It has whole rolled oats in it, but presumably they've been blitzed and when added to the oat bran and oat flour it's just a packet of 'dusty stuff'. With the recommended amount of water it's very sloppy so if you like things a bit firmer I'd suggest using slightly less water than directed. My biggest issue with this product was how sweet it was - it's over-poweringly sweet, so much so that I really couldn't eat more than a couple of spoons. A fair number of the non-VLCD porridge pots come in at the same (or slightly less) calorific value and have more texture which makes the only USP of this product the added vitamins and minerals...honestly I'd rather go for a plain Oats So Simple at 180 calories and pop a multi-vitamin pill!
