Apart from the peas being hard it wasn't a bad meal.
I really like the shepherds pie meal, it is hot and I find filling. I like the texture of it and look forward to having it in the evenings.
This product looks nothing like the picture but I really enjoyed it! It was filling and felt like eating a proper meal. Probably more like flavoured mashed potato but I will definitely be buying it again!
Ewww unfortunately it didn't taste anything like Shepard's Pie. It was a nice thick texture but it lacked flavour and I found it difficult to finish.
I was so excited to try this, and had to wait for the stock to be replenished. It finally arrived this morning so I eagerly popped on the kettle to try it. It is revolting. Tastes nothing like shepherds pie. I wouldn't even feed my dog it. So disappointed ☹
I think this is by far the worst meal replacement meal I have ever had. I found this meal to be completely inedible. The texture was very slimy and gloopy; no resemblance to Shepherds pie at all. It was not very nice at all. I am really disappointed with Exante lately, it seems as though the standard has really slipped. Not only have I need waiting months for stock to replenish, the new meals that they do come out with are horrendous. I would not advise anyone to try this, it was absolutely vile!
This was one of my favourites. Since being changed it has a slimey texture, and the peas in it are rock hard. Such a shame 😔
This is my favourite meal by far. Even better with lean mince and mushrooms as part of my man plan extra.
Sorry guys, but this is not nice at all. I was gagging whilst eating this. It looked like wallpaper paste and felt just as bad in the mouth. I shall not be eating this again!
I loved exante's products & have used them to shift baby weight after each of my children but what has happened? This was inedible! What happened to the old trusty recipe? I was disappointed the spag bol is no longer a product. The rice pots used to be amazing, where are they? What is this you've replaced them with? I'm sorry exante but you just lost a customer. Re-think whoever you're using to make your products. The old range was far better.
This is definetly shepherds pie just love the taste,,,I do add just a little more hot water as it is quite thick,,,,but one i will be ordering more off,,,,,,,,,
Close your eyes. Imagine you're holding a real bowl of shepherds pie in your hands. A thin layer of mash. No cheese on top. A bit less gravy than you'd like. Now stir it. Stir it until it's a mushy pulp. Now put it in your mouth, it's slightly undercooked but it'll do. That's how it tastes. Not revolting, but it's a diet product, I don't know what people are expecting. Just don't eat them for every meal for a week like I did cause you'll get sick of it and the smell of it will bring you dread.
Who ever thinks this tastes like Shepard's Pie needs to have their taste buds replaced. It becomes sort of edible if you pour loads of seasonings on top of it. Not going to be reordering this any time soon
Very unhappy with these. Bought a large lot only to find out they had changed the recipe.Simply inedible. I wish I could give it back. Awful, awful. Bring the old recipe back.
I didn't like the shepherds pie, its very bland but smells and tastes of herbs.
The old recipe was good, but when the packaging was changed so was the recipe and it's awful, tastes and looks like herbal walpaper paste. The peas are like bullets and will mot soften.
Not my favourite meal, I've read the other reviews and they are quite damning..however for just over 200 calories you can't expect a gourmet dinner.. I added less water to avoid it becoming gloopy and added some seasoning so it wasn't inedible.
This used to be my favourite meal but now is just plain horrid. Such a shame as I have loads I won't eat. The peas won't soften and the taste and texture is vile. Do you not taste test the new recipes before accepting them.
I use to love this product used to be my fav thing I could eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner however now it has a funny texture and I'm now left with 20 packs I just can't seem to enjoy it like before why try to fix something that wasn't broken
Think the new recipe is a disaster. From what was one of my favourite go-to lunch meals this new version is just horrible. It's not the taste it's the texture, which manages to be foamy and gloopy at the same time. Why Exante, why mess with what was a great product? The same thing has happened with the Spaghetti Bolognese, which used to be a dinnertime fav that I can now barely tolerate. Don't know whether this has been done to reduce product costs (adding a bulking agent is cheaper than using actual ingredients) but change them back - PLEASE!!! Also, how about prominently stating when you change a recipe so customers are aware before they buy, and don't end up with loads of product that they don't like. Total Solution is hard enough without having to grit your way through the meals when you do get to eat!
