What was Jessica's Motivation?

"I've struggled with body image all my life. Always been up and down with weight and never been truly happy with my body.

After my second child I went through a really tough time emotionally and the pounds just kept creeping on. Enough was enough, things had to change.

Q1: What made you decide to lose weight?

A: I've struggled with body image all my life. Always been up and down with weight and never been truly happy with my body. After my second child I went through a really tough time emotionally and the pounds just kept creeping on. I reached a point where I was ashamed to even leave my home in fear of what people were thinking or even saying when they saw me. When I did go out and saw people I felt so disgusted in myself I wished the ground to open up and swallow me, especially if it was people that know me as I'd reached the biggest I'd ever been. I'd complain about my weight and the responses had changed, rather than "there's nothing wrong with you" I’d get "you'll lose it when you’re ready". I'd complain I can't seem to get my head in the game and I'd get "yes this is the biggest I've ever seen you but you'll do it eventually". That didn't sit well with me. When I hopped on the scales and saw I weighed the same amount as I did at full term with my second baby I felt physically sick. Enough was enough, things had to change.

Q2: How did Exante fit into your lifestyle?

A: I’m a single mum of 2 very young children so the fact the meal replacements were easily made and easy to transport, fit in extremely well/easy for me. The hard part was not picking at the kids foods but I wanted the loss more than their chips.

Q3: When did you first notice a difference?

A: I noticed the first difference 2 weeks after beginning my journey when a jacket that hasn't fit me then fit.


Q4: What have you learnt during your journey with Exante?

A: I've learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. The determination it takes to stick to total solution in the first week or so is immense, if I can do that I can stick to anything and achieve anything if I want it bad enough. I've also learned it's okay to have blips and make mistakes, it's about the work you put in afterwards and picking yourself straight backup and trying again. I've also learned of the importance of calorie intake. I work out alongside Exante and within the first few weeks me and my family were worried about my health as I felt really weak and faint. I had a weekend off plan for an occasion and found I felt worlds better. After turning to the Exante Facebook page for support and advice I was advised to add back the calories burned with low carb, high protein foods. I was sceptical at first as I didn't want to ruin my losses but took on their advice and decided to see if adding in did make a difference. Well I'm glad I listened because the ill feeling I had disappeared and it actually aided losses. What I'm trying to say is through Exante I've learned about how to live a healthy lifestyle even after Exante. Adding calories back, loads of different meal ideas for maintaining, to eat clean 80% however it’s okay to enjoy "the naughties" so long as you don’t indulge/abuse, how the body works i.e. starvation mode, needing protein for muscle repair. Exante isn't about the money like other diets, it's genuinely about aiding people to live a healthier, vibrant lifestyle. Thank you.

Q5: How has your life changed since losing weight?

A: I’m confident, happy, healthy. I've more energy than ever, I feel fitter than ever. I can leave the house with my head held high, walk up the stairs without getting out of breath. I can buy clothes without embarrassment of their size. I don't have to worry about what I'll wear anymore because everything looks great. I feel the best I’ve ever felt and comfortable in my own skin, more so than ever before. I've got a positive mind set and determined to keep my life heading in this direction. I feel like a whole new me and it doesn't stop here!.

Q6: What is your next goal?

A: I’d like to tone up and build muscle
