5I read a lot of reviews before I tried this and I was dreading it. I followed the instructions but as others have said it looked like soup with bits of dry pasta in. After the microwave had finished I re-covered the dish and left it to stand in the microwave for 5 minutes. When I returned the sauce had thickened and the pasta was lovely and soft. This meal is so tasty if cooked right and hard to believe it is a healthy option.

4Well this is my first day on the Exante Diet and having read the reviews about the Carbonara and the cooking escapades I decided to experiment. I soaked it for 5 mins in the hot water then decided to cook it on the hob. I brought it to the boil then simmered on a really low light for 5 minutes. Result....the pasta was cooked, tasted better than it looked, a very small looking portion but surprisingly filling! You must keep stirring it in the pan though as it will stick very easily. Pleasantly surprised.

Least favourite meal
3This Pasta Carbonara is definitely the meal I dread the most. I followed the instructions but like many others have said, it turned out like a soup with little bits of pasta here and there. It's not the best and doesn't live up to the many other meals I have tried! It also tasted a little bit powdery to me which is such a shame.

Pasta carbonara
3I have to say I have been disappointed with this meal considering all the other ones have been really good. My main quibble is not the taste as its actually quite nice apart from a tad salty. The instructions are not the best for preparing this meal. I have followed the instructions and it has resulted in either a soup with bits of pasta or not much food left in the bowl due to microwaveable issues, I will however persevere as the diet is working well for me. I think it would be more useful to have a timing scale dependent on microwave power as I think this is a contributing factor in the over flowing of the bowl. Also maybe Exante need to introduce the option of cooking via the hob.

Not pleasant
2I followed the instructions on the packet 150ml hot water, cover for 5 mins, then microwave for 2. It turned out like soup, with a few bits of crunchy 'pasta'. I didn't like this at all, and had to literally force it down to get it finished.

Wonderful!
5The Pasta Carbonara tastes wonderful! Even my friend who came round when I was making it and had a spoon said that she would not expect diet food to be that tasty. The portion is not too big compared with the shakes and soups but I think once my stomach shrinks a bit, I will be fulfilled with it.

Dissapointing
3While I have found most of the ready meals very good, the Pasta Carbonara I found to be very salty. Also, seemed to be very little of it. Shame!!

Yummy
5I was a little dubious with the first few packs of the Pasta Carbonara as it took a while to get them right, but once I did they were very nice indeed!

Tasty
4Once you have perfected the cooking method (simply microwaving for the allotted time leads to over boiling) this is very good. I tend to microwave for a minute then put in a wok with some added chopped veg and some zero carb noodles to pad it out a bit if eating at dinner time, lunchtime I tend to just eat it on it's own. Either way it's tasty and filling.

Tasty and Filling
5Was a bit dubious about purchasing these pastas following some of the reviews however I was pleasantly surprised. I do find you have to keep a close eye on them when microwaving but once prepared i find them tasty and very satisfying. Another excellent product from Exante !!
