Peanut Butter Partayyyy. Because we’re super duper excited about #NationalPeanutButterDay (if you hadn’t already guessed) we’ve lovingly compiled a first-class peanut butter parade for you lucky bunch. Look at them, drool at them, pray to the Peanut Butter Gods, and bask in the glory that is Peanut Butter Day with us!

Peanut butter is so versatile; it can go in anything from oats to sandwiches to stir frys. It can be spread, spooned or dolloped and is one of the world’s best natural protein sources. Just 100g of peanut butter gives you 25g of protein – that’s around 50% of your Recommended Daily Allowance of protein! Amazing, right?

Fat. It’s a not a word you’ll hear often when you’re trying to lead a healthy lifestyle, but don’t despair! There are such things as healthy fats or “good fats” which are significantly different from “bad fats”; good fats are monounsaturated fats, which help lower blood cholesterol, reduce belly fat and help maintain a healthy heart. Bad fats are saturated fats or trans fats which, as the name suggests, saturate the body with dense calories. This means you get all the bad stuff which can build up in the body, leading to high cholesterol and increased blood pressure.

Probably one of the best things about peanut butter is the creamy, dreamy deliciousness of it. There is no greater feeling than sitting back, relaxing, and feasting on a big heap of peanut butter, direct from spoon to mouth.

Whilst eating peanut butter by the spoonful is not recommended if you’re trying to keep your calorie intake low, there are peanut butter alternatives on the market which you can devour in just the same way!
